Max informs a devastated Jack of the club fire. Suspicious, Jack asks Ronnie whether she planned it for the insurance payout, but she maintains her innocence. Sceptical, Max probes her and inquires into the electrical problems at the club.

She claims she couldn’t afford an electrician. He’s perplexed when he later learns that Roxy gave Ronnie money for an electrician. Having been tipped off by Darren, Max confronts Billy. Billy confesses to having fixed the electrics. Max challenges Ronnie and informs her that if the insurers find out, Jack can kiss goodbye to his clinic and the club.

The Masoods are visited by Bushra and Nadim. They put on a united front, but Zainab’s wounded on hearing that she’s been snubbed by friends from the community. Having witnessed Masood ignoring Syed, Jane encourages him not to reject his son. Masood snubs her advice.

He’s stunned when Zainab presents him with the new family photo, minus Syed. Coldly she claims: “This is my family now.”

Peter berates Lucy and Ian for deceiving Jane, and warns Ian that it’s inevitable that she’ll find out. Panicked Ian attempts to foil the book club, but realising he can’t, he makes a call. He informs Jane that he’s arranged for her to visit her mother in Florida.

Zainab asks Tamwar to doctor the family photo. Tamwar reluctantly agrees, on Syed’s advice, but later defiantly tells Zainab that she can’t erase Syed from their lives.

Billie avoids Ronnie. When Heather assumes Billy got his rent money from his electrics work at the club, Billy brusquely denies it. When Darren relays his suspicions about the insurance job, Heather lets slip about Billy.

Ben’s sneered at by Jordan and Abi for suggesting a Bhangra dance class. Eager to prove he’s cool, Ben steals booze from the Vic. Show less
