In an attempt to help Peggy regain control of the Vic, Danny tries to convince Roxy to buy Booty. Roxy’s initially unenthused, but thanks to Danny’s persuasion, she reconsiders. Seeing a man, Tim, inspecting the premises, Roxy flirtatiously probes into his bidding plans.

Having learnt from Ian that every business to have occupied the premises has been a failure, Roxy decides against about buying the salon. She’s stunned when Ronnie arrives and reveals that Tim was working for her; she intends to buy Booty and turn it into a bar.

With Lucy’s pregnancy secret out, the Beales fear the repercussions at school, but Lucy’s unfazed. An expectant Lucy meets Leon, but her hope is short-lived as it becomes obvious that Leon only has intentions to accompany her to get an abortion.

Wounded, Lucy retorts that she doesn’t need his help, the baby isn’t his. Ian and Jane are concerned to later see Lucy being teased.

Carol bristles as Dot gives her an exhaustive induction at the laundrette. She ushers Dot away, before throwing away her instructions. Carol fumes when a pompous Ian brings in his laundry. Carol’s dismayed to find that she’s destroyed Ian’s clothes.

Having learnt of the mishap, Dot reprimands Carol and insists on re-training her. Exasperated, Carol quits. Meanwhile, Billie is a natural on his first day at the Arches.

Minty quizzes Phil about his ideal woman. Minty’s amused as Phil unwittingly describes Shirley. Phil’s dismissive, but he later jumps to Shirley’s defence when two women insult her.

Lucas tries to deter Denise from her council petition to make over the gardens. He’s relieved when Charlie, Jean and Dot return with news that the council are uninterested.

Undeterred, they decide that if the council won’t help, they’ll dig up the gardens themselves. Lucas is horrified. Show less
