When TV presenter Kristian Digby set his heart on owning a stylish contemporary property in London, his options - and his budget - were limited. But this was not going to put him off. The solution was simple: instead of buying his dream home, he would build it!
Using his back garden for a plot, Kristian is convinced he can build his perfect pad in nine months and with a tiny budget of 150,000 pounds. But self-building is not for the fainthearted and what follows is a rollercoaster ride as Kristian struggles to prevent his dream home turning into a nightmare.
After all the trials and tribulations, things begin to go to plan for Kristian. The exterior of his new home is finished off and the builders have cracked on with the interior too, from the staircase to tiling.
However he has blown his original budget and the build is months behind schedule, all of which begins to put a strain on his relationships with friends and family who have helped him through the project.
Kristian also meets the couple from Wiltshire whose self-build home is a trip back to the future and he turns on the waterworks with a stint of plumbing at building college.
Also featured is the first-time buyer and builder who constructed a four bed house for under 100,000 pounds and the new home that has been made almost entirely from recycled material. Show less
