Make My Body Younger
Series 2
Episode 8: Lynsey Carratt
1 hour
Presenter George Lamb and a group of doctors advise people with excessive lifestyles how to become healthier and avoid serious illness.
27-year-old management consultant Lynsey Carratt seems to have it all - a good job, a nice place to live and a good social life. But this urban good life could soon be over unless Lynsey gets a grip on her partying lifestyle. Poor timekeeping and killer hangovers are threatening her job and unless she calls a halt on the post-clubbing house parties for which she's become renowned she could lose her apartment in a swish London gated community.
Growing up in Hull, Lynsey's life was under control and it was only when she moved to London in her mid-twenties that the temptations of glitzy parties and omnipresent cocaine proved difficult to resist. Lashings of wine and vodka, drug binges and a packet-a-day cigarette habit have left Lynsey exhausted, unable to concentrate and in imminent danger of total burn-out.
An eye-popping living autopsy brings Lynsey's parents face to face for the first time with the true reality of their daughter's bad habits, and then Lynsey clashes with her live-in medic Dr Ahmed, a teetotal GP whose experience as a prison doctor means he should be used to dealing with strong-willed women. But the coke habit proves hard to crack and with her career and home life on the line Lynsey's life is in danger of spiralling out of control. Show less
