Forty years ago
David Willmott was among the 80,000 British servicemen and women stationed in the Canal
Zone of Egypt. He began his broadcasting career at Station 3FBS on the edge of the desert, and still has a copy of Forces Radio
Times dated April 1951. Tonight he makes a nostalgic return visit to
Ismailia, and plays the hits of the day.

Sir George Erskine , and music from Noel Coward ,
