Hazel Irvine and John Parrott introduce live coverage from the SECC in Glasgow. It has been 13 years since Stephen Hendry last lifted the Grand Prix trophy, but he will have a lot of local support as he starts his 2008 campaign against qualifier David Gilbert. He is followed onto the table by the reigning Grand Prix champion, Hong Kong's Marco Fu, who won his first ranking title with a thrilling victory over Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final. BBC Snooker's co-presenter Steve Davis is also in action against Australia's Neil Robertson. Matches are the best-of-9 frames.
