Election

Episode 1: Auditions

Duration: 25 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One Yorks & LincsLatest broadcast: on CBBC Channel

Imagine if kids ruled the world? What a place that would be! In a new children's reality series Election, CBBC goes on a national search to find a true leader among the kids of the UK.

The series is presented by Angellica Bell and overseen by judge, political journalist Jonathan Dimbleby, who will scrutinise a set of ambitious and confident kids as they are shaped and mentored to see if they have what it takes to run the country. Over the course of ten programmes these junior wannabe politicians will be whittled down to two for a final face off in Parliament where they will face the vote of their peers - all kids aged between 8-14. The winner will go to Number 10 for a private chat with the Prime Minister.

In this first episode, 16 hopefuls enter Leadership Camp to be tested on their skills of decision making, teamwork and persuasiveness. Only ten will make it through to live in Leadership House and the man watching their every move is Jonathan Dimbleby. He's interviewed Brown, grilled Thatcher and taken Blair to task - what will he make of these pint sized politicians? Who will make it through to win a chance to be a leader of the nation's kids?
