A programme following Hugo, a young male hippo who lives in Zambia's Luangwa River.

The stretch of the river which Hugo calls home is ruled by his father - 'The King of the River' - the biggest, loudest and grumpiest hippo. Hugo has other babies to play with, but older males are not tolerated by the King, who will fight to preserve his territory. Crocodiles share their home and lions prowl on the shore, but Hugo's mum is always around to keep him safe. Show less
