MID-WEEK SERVICE

on Regional Programme Scotland

View in Radio Times

Conducted by the Rev. W. ARNOLD
REID, St. Mary's Church, Selkirk
Mr. Arnold Reid, who came from Whithorn to Selkirk to succeed the Rev. George Lawson , as minister, of St. Mary's, takes a very active interest in the general affairs of the Royal Burgh.
It is appropriate that a Selkirk minister should take the Mid-Week Service this week as the people of Selkirk will be celebrating next day their annual Common-Riding and, what is more important, the Quater-Centenary of their charter. This year is also the centenary of the death of James Hogg , the ' Ettrick Shepherd,' who had a number of associations with the Forest Burgh.
