Antonio Pappano conducts a concert performance of the new Covent Garden production of the second opera in Wagner's Ring cycle, starring Placido Domingo and Bryn Terfel. The plot surrounds Siegmund and Sieglinde's incestuous love affair and Wotan's decision to punish his warrior daughter, Brunnhilde, when she defends them. Presented by Christopher Cook.

George Brandt left his home town of Berlin as a teenager in 1933. In 2002 he was invited to return under a scheme run by the city as a gesture of reconciliation to Berlin exiles around the world.
