Where the Buffalo Roam 8.30pm BBC1
There are some very familiar faces in this pilot for a comedy series. It stars Stephen McGann, the youngest of the four acting brothers, who was seen recently in The Hanging Gale. Here he plays Jimmy Dunn, a security guard with enterprising ideas (this week, it's a road haulage company, last week, it was a postal pet cemetery). He lives at home with his permanently distracted mother (played by Anne Reid who many viewers will remember as Valerie Barlow in Coronation Street) and her lazy boyfriend (played by another former soap star, Brookside's Ricky Tomlinson).
