Composer of the Week: Miles Davis

3/5. During the 1950s Miles Davis became established as one of the best-known and most influential trumpeters in jazz. But as Donald Macleod discovers, he was also changing the nature of jazz composition. Music from this period includes the score to Louis Malle 's film Ascenseur pour I'Echafaud, Sid's Ahead, Milestones, and the album Kind of Blue.
