Haydn and Op 3

on BBC Radio 3

Modern scholars have advanced the theory that Haydn's Op 3 quartets, including the famous Serenade, may have been the work of a little-known contemporary. Roman Hofstatter. REGINALD BARRETT-AYRES , author of a recent book on Haydn's quartets, contrasts some of Haydn's Op 3 with quartets known to be by Hofstatter.
