Imber - England's Lost Village

on BBC Four

In 1943, 160 residents of Imber in Wiltshire were evacuated to accommodate American troops in advance of the D-Day landings, but after the war, despite protests, they remained exiled from their own homes. Mark Kidel 's film tells how a ghost village came back from the dead.
