GLYN SAMUEL'S DANCE BAND

This dance band, formed four years ago, is composed entirely of miners, half of whom are at present unemployed. In 1936 it won the Birmingham open dance-band contest, and in 1937 the first prize in the dance-band contest at the All-Wales Variety Week held at Swansea. Glyn Samuel himself is an accomplished cellist.
