6.0 Mr. Henry Rhodes: 'Verdicts from Dust'
Modern police methods have become so thorough that most of us have little knowledge of the subtle ways in which the police track down their victims. Did you know, for instance, that it is quite possible to tell a man's calling by an examination of the wax in his ears? It is often by the little things, the minutiae of a man's life, that most is discoverable about him; similarly, it is by means of a microscopic examination of the 'professional dusts (as, for instance, the specks and flecks on clothing are called) that a man's crime may be unerringly detected today. It is about those little, but very important, factors in modern police evidence that Mr. Rhodes, who is General Secretary of the British Association of Chemists, will talk this evening.
