Davitt Moroney introduces and plays preludes and fugues by Johann Caspar
Ferdinand Fischer (died 1746) and from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, a work they almost certainly influenced.

In the penultimate programme exploring the life of pianist and composer Thelonious Monk, Ian Carr concentrates on 1959-60, a period graphically recalled by saxophonist Steve Lacy. Besides touring with his regular quartet. Monk led a ten-piece band which included saxophonists Phil Woods and Charlie Rouse and which was recorded in concert at New York's Town
Hall.
