Beaten and then left for dead, a teenage girl makes accusations against the respected head of her foster home, Brother Thomas, that lead assistant district attorney Julie Butler into an emotionally strained prosecution. With the aid of an embittered investigator, Julie seeks evidence that will stand up in court, fearing that even the victim of the crime may let her down.
