Among the stars competing for prize money of £50,000 are Rod Laver; Joe Frazier, the former world heavyweight champion; Jean-Claude Killy, the Olympic champion skier; and Bob Seagren, the Olympic pole vault gold medallist. The sports include running, cycling, swimming, golf, weightlifting.

Sweden, Holland and Great Britain, and among the Olympic champions on view are Shane Gould of Australia and Gunnar Larsson of Sweden. David Wilkie, silver medallist in Munich, swims for Britain.
