Talk by David Green
In a third talk on the formal garden David Green refers to the game of ' French and English ' (or Beat:ng the French ') and applies it to large-scale garden-planning in this country. Not only in Marlborough's day but more recently the English magnifico has fek impelled to attempt improvement upon the classic achievements of Le Notre in and about Paris.
