Traditional Music

on BBC Radio 3

World Tour
In the last stop on her world tour, Jo Shinner talks to Hanitrarivo Rasaonaivo, leader of a famous young band from Madagascar called Tarika. Hanitrarivo Rasaonaivo talks about their music and instruments, which include the valiha - a kind of bamboo zither strung with bicycle brake cables - and the marovany, which is made from a large, wooden box.
