Manhunt

on BBC One London

4/8. The Mardi Gra Bomber. On 6 December 1994 six festively wrapped parcels were delivered to branches of Barclays Bank across London. Inside each was a video cassette box containing a booby-trapped shotgun cartridge. Over the next three-and-a-half years the bomber's attacks, first on Barclays and then Sainsbury's, became increasingly dangerous until, in 1998, Detective Superintendent Jeff Rees staked his reputation on an elaborate cashpoint sting that constituted Britain's biggest surveillance operation.
