In the summer of 1656 Captain Edmund Rogers is hunting the Company of the Locket, a band of outlaws led by Red Owain. He captures Catrin, Red Owain 's daughter, but she disappears after a fire which is really a cover for a raid on the town, while the mayor, William Jones , is kidnapped by Red Owain.
