Peter Barlow is wrongfully convicted of murder and imprisoned; the guilty man walks free. But prison does not keep a man for ever, and it does not keep Barlow for his full term. With the help of a friend he breaks out, and sets off on the strangely difficult task of tracking down the real murderer.
