Kate told Mrs. Dale she cou'd take the twins back to Wenderely and look after them all Christmas week, but Mrs. Dale refused her offer. Caradoc decided he would not go home to Wales for Christmas. Sally was overjoyed when Richard arrived from America. Mrs. Dale found, to her consternation, that Henry had invited Mrs. Mountford to have Christmas dinner at Virginia Lodge.
