The Richmond Fellowship
Group therapy in action
Ten years ago a Dutch theology student, Elly Jansen , started the Richmond Fellowship in London for the rehabilitation of the mentally ill. Among the 17 centres now run by the Fellowship is St Charles ' House in West London, where the warden, TONY MANOCCHIO ,holds a twice-weekly session in group therapy.
WILFRED DE'ATH introduces a recording of one such session and questions TONY MANOCCHIO about his methods and aims. This ' happening ' is free, frank, and at times explosive. Produced by HUBERT HOSKINS (Group therapy - one step on the road back to a normal life: page 12)
