Haitink's Ring
Bernard Haitink has been Music Director of the Royal Opera for a year now and he talks to Christopher Cook on the eve of his most ambitious project at Covent Garden. Next Friday he conducts the first night of the first opera in Wagner's Ring cycle -
Das Rheingold , and over the next three years he will be staging the remaining three operas in the cycle. Haitink talks about his work at the Royal Opera House and his Wagnerian nights.
