Film Matinee: Dunkirk

on BBC One London

starring John Mills, Bernard Lee, Richard Attenborough
In June 1941 the last of more than 338,000 men were taken off Dunkirk beach in an operation that has already become a legend of World War II. This epic film from Ealing Film Studios recreates the evacuation by following the fortunes of some of the soldiers who were there as well as those who set sail from England in small boats to rescue them.
