MUSIC AND MOVEMENT I, by Muriel Sandell
To be repeated tomorrow at 9.45 a.m.
11.20 HISTORY. I. 'Joan of Arc': a peasant girl turns the tide of war in France. Script by Philippa Pearce
In 1430 Joan of Arc, a prisoner of the English invaders of France, was tried as a heretic and burned at the stake. From her evidence at that trial, and the later evidence of those who knew her, the famous story of a French national heroine is retold in broadcast form.
11.40 PANORAMA. Law and Order: ' Next Case! ' Script by Jenifer Wayne.
This week's programme shows us the daily work of a busy magistrate's court. Though the magistrate's court does sometimes come into the limelight in connection with a sensational case, most of its work is less well known to the general public.
