In 1985, at the age of 16, Evelyn Glennie was totally deaf but determined to pursue a career as a professional percussionist. Now she has given a solo concert at the Proms. And shepherdess Katy Cropper and her border collie, Trim, are competing for a place in the English National Sheepdog Team. No woman has achieved this for a decade.
