In the second part of the Met's Ring cycle - which concentrates on the mortals - Sieglinde has been forced into a loveless marriage with Hunding. A man collapses on the floor of their forest hut. He turns out to be none other than her long-lost brother, Siegmund. They fall passionately in love.
