This Week's Composer

on BBC Radio 3

Edmund Rubbra (born 1901)
Rubbra is a composer who has never made any effort to popularise anything he has done, but he goes on creating masterpieces, which 1 am convinced will survive their creator and many of those who are his contemporaries. There Is no question but that his music has come to stay.
