The Little Theatre Cabaret

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

(D)
Under the direction of Harry Tollfree from the Little Theatre, Saltburn

For the past seven years Harry Tollfree has been directing the Little Theatre Cabaret at Saltburn-by-the Sea, on the Yorkshire coast, on behalf of Mrs. M.O. Osborne, lessee of the Little Theatre there. For the fourth year in succession they are to broadcast. It is of interest to listeners that Mrs. Osborne's cousin, Joan Shadwell, soubrette and dancer, will be heard this afternoon, for Joan is the daughter of Charles Shadwell, conductor of the BBC Variety Orchestra.
Linda Love, comedian and dancer, and Ivy Esta, pianist and entertainer, have been with the company for four consecutive seasons. Cal McCord is a Canadian entertainer who specialises in cowboy acts. Walter Barker is a comedian of considerable repute.
The show is run on intimate personality lines, and the ladies' dresses are a feature. Humour, versatility, good voices all contribute to making the Little Theatre Cabaret a perennial success.
