Sounds Interesting

on BBC Radio 3

In this week's survey Derek Jewell offers something very special: parts of DUKE ELLING-TON'S The Queen's Suite. Ellington wrote it in 1959 after he had met Queen Elizabeth II for the first time. recorded it at his own expense, and presented a copy to the Queen. He refused requests to allow the record to be generally released whilst he was alive. Now it has been issued. Also tonight: NEIL DIAMOND, LARRY CORYELL and the 11TH HOUSE, and more from JOHN STEVENS ' AWAY: records
