The 300 Spartans

on BBC One London

The Saturday film stars Richard Egan, Sir Ralph Richardson, Diane Baker, Barry Coe, David Farrar, Donald Houston, Anna Synodinou

Twenty-four centuries ago Xerxes, Emperor of Persia, plotted the conquest of the entire known world, and with an army of five million he advanced on Greece.
This spectacular and exciting film tells the story of the mighty Battle of Thermopylae, where Xerxes' hordes faced the King of Sparta's tiny force of 300 men - but men with a veneration for valour and honour who changed the course of history.
