Sandy Burnett celebrates the 70th birthday of Australian-born soprano Joan Sutherland with a programme of rare recordings from the BBC archives. Dating from the late fifties and early sixties, these recordings capture "La Stupenda" - as the Italians hailed her - on the eve of her ascent to international superstardom. Including;
Bach's Mein Glaubiges Herz (Cantata No 68)
Liszt's Die Loreley and excerpts from Weber's Euryanthe, Handel's Alcina and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
