Libretto by GWEN harwood based on GEORG buchner's novella (sung in English) In the winter of 1778 Jakob Lenz suffers a mental breakdown. His friend Kauffman sends him to a mountain village where he is befriended by the pastor but fails to find a cure for his illness.
