News Summary MRS. DALE'S DIARY

on Light Programme

Script by Jonquil Antony
Repeated on Tuesday at 11.15 a.m.
Productions by Betty Davies and Keri Lewis
The Owens came up from Wales, and returned feeling fairly cheerful about Caradoc, though Mr. Owen told Dr. Dale privately that he was very worried about what might happen. Caradoc reluctantly went back to the garage, but Bob told him it would be better if he did not start work again until after his second appearance in court. The tour of Jenny's play reached Edinburgh, and Grandfather Dale and Flora went to see her. Mrs. Freeman had lunch with Maud French, who was worried about the way things were going at the flats, and especially about Major Dawlish playing the cornet; but when they met Major Dawlish shortly afterwards, he did not give Maud a chance to mention the subject. Janet was summoned to appear as a witness at Caradoc's second appearance in court; Miriam was very upset and wanted her to deny she had been with Haynes on the night Caradoc knocked him down, but Janet refused.
