A descriptive Commentary and Interviews by GEORGE BLAKE from the Games Park, Luss,
Loch Lomond
(By permission of the Chieftain and Committee)
This afternoon listeners are to hear a description of the Luss Highland Gathering that has been a tradition in Dumbartonshire for over sixty years. It was founded by local farmers and sportsmen who were all members of the Luss company of the Dumbartonshire Volunteers ; great Scottish athletes like J. Fleming and Donald Dinnie have competed in the games.
The games ground is situated in the lovely Luss country over against Loch Lomond , by the River Luss. beneath the well-wooded lands of Camstraddan and the rugged Luss Hills.
George Blake , who is to give the commentary, must be one of the best-known names on the air in Scotland.
