Island of Twenty Thousand Saints

on BBC Radio 4 FM

Last year Libby and David Barnden were selected from hundreds of applicants to farm the remote Welsh island of Bardsey. They were committing themselves to life without running water, electricity ortelephone, and facing the very real possibility of being stranded for weeks at a time. In the first of two programmes, Sian Pari Huws documents the eventful early months as the castaways move themselves across to their new home. Producer Jeremy Grange
