Great Alliance

on BBC One London

The third of a series of four films looking at the historic alliance between Man and his animals.
The Horse
Introduced by Joe Henson
Of all the animals Man has domesticated, it was the horse with which he developed a special relationship. With its fleetness of foot, and the ability to carry Man on his hunting expeditions, the horse soon became an indispensable ally, helping to create a culture which lasted until the 20th century.
