I've never grown herbs-can you suggest half a dozen to start with in a small, west-facing bed? Is it best to use fresh or dried herbs in cooking? And which ones freeze well? There are quite a lot of herbal cosmetic preparations about now - can I make my own hair rinse, for instance?
