Presented by Geoffrey Smith. The Beethoven Sonata series from London's Wigmore Hall continues with fantasy at its heart. The two Op 27 sonatas show the composer at his most experimental. They are preceded by one of the shortest and least-known of Beethoven's piano works. Paul Lewis ends his recital with the large-scale sonata that the young Beethoven dedicated to a countess whom he loved.
