A dramatisation by Vanessa Rosenthal , based on a real collection of old letters, that follows the lives and loves of three women over three generations of a medieval family. Margaret Paston is under siege from the Duke of Suffolk. He has ransacked the church and every house in town. Her husband is released from the debtors' prison, but dies in May 1466, to Margaret's great grief.
