The Pargeter family are solidly suburban, Mother ambitious for her son Nick to go to University, daughter Lynn about to qualify for the most boring marriage of the year - or so Nick feels, led on to other liberal thoughts from his progressive schoolteacher, Larry. But when a gossiping acquaintance claims funny goings-on at Nick's extra coaching lessons, family righteousness is unleashed.
