The Edinburgh Tattoo is recognised as the finest show of its kind in the world. Starting in 1947 as a small ' military contribution ' to the new-born International Festival, it now attracts a quarter of a million people to the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle each year. It also attracts colourful items from around the globe and tonight Tom Fleming recalls
