The children are playing while Ulysses searches for minerals on a strange moon. Shyrka warns the children not to play too close to an old mine-shaft, but they disobey and suddenly they are falling down through Time. They find themselves back 5,000 years and meet their ancestors, the first hero called Ulysses and his son, Telemachus.
