played by Susi Jeans
Although she is the wife of Sir James Jeans , the distinguished astronomer (and enthusiastic organist) Susi Jeans is a star in her own right. She was born in Vienna twenty-nine years ago ; began her studies at the Academy of Music there when she was fourteen, and went on to Leipzig to study under Dr. Karl Straube organ works of the old masters. Her interpretation of these, with the registration of the period, was to win her sensational fame in Europe. After a series of recitals and broadcasts on the Continent, she came to England in 1934, and again in 1935, when she was invited to give the opening recital at the Handel Festival in Cambridge.
