In the Summer of 1911, Albert comes to Quinn and Lundy, Publishers, in search of a position. He discovers a monumental palace spread across half a London street: a garner of wisdom and knowledge, strangely peopled. 'Always be curious, Albert', Mr Drummer advises him.
