The pitfalls of life on a remote island off the north Wales coast begin to sink in for the Barnden family, as Libby and her daughters find themselves stranded on the mainland by bad weather. Over on the island, as the weeks drag by and the chances of a boat making the crossing don't seem to improve, David faces depleting stocks of food and the start of lambing.
